The Clinical Medicine/MBBS program in Hubei University of Science and Technology is a medical education program specifically designed for international students who wish to pursue a medical bachelor degree in China. The overall goal of this program is to develop extensive medical knowledge and laid a solid foundation for their further studies in any medical branch for medical graduates. Special requirements of other countries where most students originally come from are also taken into account. The curriculum is organized in a disciplinary setting based on a school’s existing undergraduate medical education program and composed of two stages, pre-clinic and clinic stage

COURSE INTRODUCTION
The curriculum system in Hubei University of Science and Technology has undertaken reform since 2007. The teaching schedule is based on the American USMLE syllabus, combining theory and practice instead of the former teaching mode: learn theory firstly then practice. The study duration is 6 years, including 1 year of internship in hospital.

INTERNSHIP AND CAREER
The internship for MBBS program students is 1 year (at least 48 weeks). In general, international students would like to do the internship in China. However, if students want to do the internship in other country, HBUST needs to do a qualification evaluation on the hospital which student chooses. Students should choose a hospital recognized by WHO and complete the required internship weeks and content. An internship certificate is also necessary.
And, students have to take the final examination on Theory Test and Clinical Evaluation in HBUST.
After obtaining MBBS Degree, the graduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need to do the degree accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. Except this, one can also start his own clinic or pursue study for master’s degree.
DEGREE AWARDED
MBBS Degree: On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by the HBUST, if they meet the degree regulations of the university. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

The history of HBUST library can be traced back to Xianning Normal School Library (in Xian’an district) in 1971 and Xianning Branch of Hubei Medical College Library (in Wenquan district) in 1965.
In 1980, Xianning Teacher’s College Library was built on the basis of Xianning Normal School Library with an area of 2,192 square meters, which was later expanded as the today’s library in Xian’an district since 1997, with a size of 8,248 square meters.
On the basis of Xianning Branch of Hubei Medical College Library, Xianning Medical College Library was established in 1986 with an area of 1,600 square meters, which was moved to a new site in the campus in 1997, covering 4,487 square meters.Our library, after a half century’s development, has already become a document resource center for all the teaching and research activities on campus.

Xianning is located in southeatern Hubei province, just south of Wuhan, between the southern bank of the Yangtze River in the north and the Mufu Mountains in the south. It borders Jiangxi to the southeast and Hunan to the southwest. It is called Hubei's southern gateway. Xianning is hilly and mountainous (especially in its southern part), with some flatlands (mostly in the north) and lakes. Its area is 1,501 square kilometres (580 sq mi), 56% of which is forested. Xianning's climate is temperate/continental. Average annual temperature is 17 °C and precipitation is 1,400 millimetres (55 in).

Transportation
Xianning has major rail lines, including the Beijing-Guangzhou line, many national highways, and a large stretch of the Yangtze River, making it an important transportation and shipping center.
As of 2015, four different train stations located in or near Xianning's main urban area have "Xianning" in their name; several other stations are located elsewhere within the prefecture-level city.
There are two passenger train stations on the "conventional" Beijing-Guangzhou line within the Prefecture-level city of Xianning - the Xianning Railway Station in urban area itself (80 kilometres (50 mi) from Wuhan's Wuchang train station), and the one in Chibi (118 kilometres (73 mi) from Wuchang) - are usually the first and the second stops for the slower trains leaving Wuchang toward Changsha and Guangzhou. Typical travel times from Wuchang is 40-50 min and 1 hour 20 min, respectively.[3]
The new Wuhan–Guangzhou High-Speed Railway has Xianning North Railway Station, which is located on the northern outskirts of the city's main urban area, about 2 km (1.2 mi) northeast of Xianning Railway Station.
The Wuhan–Xianning Intercity Railway (part of the future Wuhan Metropolitan Area Intercity Railway system), opened in December 2013, provides direct rail service from Wuhan's Wuchang Railway Station to Xianning city center. It has two stations in the city's main urban area: Xianning East Railway Station in the downtown Xianning, and Xianning South, the end-of-line (dead-end) station in the industrial area south of downtown. When the system was under construction, the expected travel time from Wuchang to Xianning was stated to be 28 min,[4][5] but as of 2015, the typical scheduled time from Wuchang to Xianning South (91 km) is more like 70 to 100 min
