Though the medium of instructions for MBBS students is English, you may need to learn Chinese to interact better with the patients in hospitals during the internship program.
The English-speaking capability of Chinese people is very bad, making it difficult for students to adjust. The accent of English-speaking people in China is also not of good quality.
The training or practical work for medical students is done on dummies rather than the dead bodies, making it difficult for you to get real experience.
In hospitals, overseas medical students aren’t allowed to touch the patients during their internship programs. Hence, it remains only a kind of observer-ship.
More than 35 percent Chinese universities approved by the Medical Council of Pakistan(PMDC ) are ‘C’ grade in the PMDC list. So, it would be a challenging task for students to choose the right university.
In China, interpreters and translators are used frequently as patients don’t speak English.
Once completed an MBBS degree, Pakistani students are required to sit for the PMDC screening test. An average passing ratio for MBBS students in Chinese universities is 90 percent from A-grade, 55 percent from B-grade, and 15 percent from C-grade. But, the number of seats available for those who secured B and C is almost 850 while in A-Grade it’s only 350.
